Executive Overview:
It's a 3-hole kit, faucet and two handles. The handles are expected to be approximately 4 inches away from the faucet. If you install the handles any further or any closer, you will need to get additional / different hardware to make it fit. The hardware is well built and works as expected. Excellent fit & finish.
In depth review:
This "SUMERAIN S1406DS Black Bathroom Faucets Widespread with Brass Pop Up Sink Drain" is a handsomely modern and elegant design in matte black with very precise geometric forms and no fripperies. For me the aesthetic provides some timely relief from decades of living with chrome. I'm so tired of chrome.
This unit that I'm reviewing is just kit without the drain ... i.e., the faucet, handles, and under-sink hardware to connect those together and does not include a matching drain / stopper. So ... for initial build quality I'd give it 5 stars ... everything fit the way it should, no leaks, no mis-fits. For looks, of course 5 stars. For longevity ... well, can't judge that after only a couple months, since with most bath fixtures the expectation is they will last years if not decades, and hopefully will never *need* to be replaced, and will only be replaced if I have the desire to change the look of my bathroom.
Just to touch on a something I noticed in other reviews ... the handles are designed for short throws, just 90 degrees (aka quarter turn). The bathroom sink faucets in my house were already quarter-turn handles so I did not have to change my handle-turning practices to get a temperature mix "just right", but if you have some really old sink hardware they might have longer turns which means you'll have to make a mental adjustment to get used to the new hardware.
Another item I'd like to address is the under-sink connector hoses ... they connect from the two handles (valves) to the spigot. The hoses are approximately 6 inches long and the installation guide for this kit indicates they expect the handles to be installed 4 inches away (each side) from the spigot. At this spacing the hoses fit perfectly, but if you are installing with the handles closer to the spigot than 4 inches, you might be too close to fit the provided hoses (because they are braided steel, they are not designed to make sharp turns or twist in curlicues) and will need to go hit up the local hardware store for shorter hoses. The issue arises again if your handle placement is further than 4 inches away from the spigot ... you'd need longer hoses in that case. I highly recommend you do some spelunking under your sink and take some measurements to be sure this hardware will actually fit your needs before buying.
